Black cherries, licorice, and dark chocolate on the nose. Medium to Medium Plus oak, with a smooth body on the palate.
2016 “1734” (51% Cabernet Franc; 47% Merlot; 2% Cabernet Sauvignon) This traditional Bordeaux blend features a plethora of flavors ranging from black cherries, to licorice, to dark chocolate; making it possibly our most complex wine. It’s dark fruit can sustain the heavy char of the aging barrels creating a lovely medium bodied wine.
This wine would pair well with steak, venison, lamb, and other red meats. Other pairings include roasted root vegetables, berries, strong cheeses, and chocolate.
