The Winery & Vineyeard
The vineyard consists of approximately 9000 vines over 5 acres. The first phase of the vineyard was planted by hand in April 2008 and the second phase was laser planted a year later.
All of our vines were purchased from California. The majority of our grapes are vinifera grapes, meaning they originated in Europe.
Our growing varieties include:
- Chardonnay
- Pinot Gris
- Vidal Blanc
- Merlot
- Cabernet Sauvignon
- Cabernet Franc
- Petit Verdot
The vineyard is managed by Sean Kramer with help from noted vineyard consultant Lucie Morton.
The wine production and tasting room are housed in the newly renovated bank barn on the grounds of Sweetwater Farm, where the boutique winery will produce approximately 1500 cases of wine per year.
Our small–batch wines are created using a combination of the new tools and technology and the old customs of winemaking. Our stainless steel fermentation tanks were custom–made in South Africa for our facility. Our barrels are made of the finest oak from France and the United States. The wines are crafted by winemaker Sean Kramer under the watchful eye of winery consultant John Levenberg.
